Angela Pingel Workshops - Sign up Today!

Angela Pingel of Cut to Pieces and author of A Quilter's Mixology will be our speaker in June and she is also offering two workshops! Details about each workshop are below along with a sign up link. If you have any questions, please let us know!

Workshop 1: Nine Patch Curves Quilt Workshop

Description: Come learn one of Angela's favorite quilts from her book, A Quilter's Mixology.  This playful design incorporates elements of traditional and modern aesthetics.  It is perfect for both the beginner and more advanced quilt maker with one size curve and lots of squares.  The real fun here is the layout of colors and the opportunity to fussy cut your favorite fabrics.  Start the day with plans for the small size of the quilt, but don't be surprised if you end up making it larger!

Date: Friday, June 12th

Time: 10 am - 4 pm

Location: Roeland Park Community Center, Room 6

Cost: $115

Details: A copy of Angela's book, A Quilter's Mixology, is required for this workshop. Drunkard's Path Templates will be provided as part of the workshop fee.

Supplies: 4 fat quarters of assorted color 1, 4 fat quarters of assorted color 2, 4 fat quarters of assorted color 3, 4 fat quarters of assorted color 4, 3/8 yd focal fabric for nine patch block centers, 12 assorted 1/4 yds low volume prints, 4 fat quarters assorted low volume prints, A Quilter's Mixology book, Drunkard's Path Templates (included in class fee), general sewing supplies such as a sewing machine, rotary cutter, mat, iron, seam ripper, quarter inch foot, etc.

Workshop 2: The Orla Quilt Workshop

Description: Inspired by the iconic designs of Orla Kiely, Angela created this quilt of alternating petals.  Explore Angela's technique with disappearing seams and curved piecing that she discusses at length in her book, A Quilter’s Mixology. With a focus on the highly graphic aspect of the pieced design, this quilt comes together quickly yet very effectively.   An added plus of being Accuquilt friendly allows for quick and painless cutting of each curve piece.

Date: Saturday, June 13th

Time: 9 am - 12 pm

Location: Roeland Park Community Center, Room 6

Cost: $60
