Inspiration of the Week - Chicopee kaleidescope

The last Inspiration Post of the year is a great one! Kati of from the blue chair made a gorgeous kaleidescope quilt using Denyse Schmidt's fabric line: Chicopee. She uses linen to really help the prints stand out. It's a wonderful negative space fabric choice.

Kati's inspiration was another kaleidoscope quilt she saw by Angela of Fussy Cut. We can see why it inspired Kati to make her own! Kati's quilting is also inspiration! It's superbly done and adds immensely to the quilt.

The back is pieces of leftover fabrics from the same line.

It's a warm-feeling kind of quilt and we just love it. See here for more about Kati's quilt. Thanks for sharing, Kati!

Inspiration of the Week - Wonky Cross Quilt

This week is another entry in the Madrona Road Challenge from earlier this year. Rachel, of Let's Begin Sewing, was inspired by a cross quilt that she saw on Pinterest. She decided to make a wonky cross version for her challenge quilt.

The white background really sets off her wonky crosses well, and that line of gently curved pieces is a great complement in the negative space. It's beautifully set.

Rachel tried circular quilting for the first time, and offset her start point to make even more of a statement.

Inspiration of the Week - Single Boy

This week we bring you a boyish take on the Single Girl Quilt pattern. Made by Judith of Needles and Lemons, this is her Single Boy Quilt!

We love everything about this quilt! The bright colors are so great and the background complements them perfectly. The quilting fits the design well (though it must have taken forever to do) and the overall effect looks fabulous.

Judith also made a larger size Single Girl Quilt for herself, which inspired this little boy version. You can read about that quilt here.
